FAQ

Tutoring questions, answered

Do you offer computer lessons or tutoring?+

Yes — one-on-one tech tutoring is one of our newest services. We teach computers, tablets, phones, email, and the everyday programs you actually use, at a patient, no-jargon pace. No question is too basic — helping people feel confident with their technology is the whole point.

Where do lessons happen — at your shop or my home?+

Whichever suits you. In-Shop lessons take place at our Stony Plain storefront. Prefer to learn on your own setup, or find it hard to get out? We also offer In-Home tutoring where we come to you — a standard service-call fee applies for travel within our service area.

How much does tutoring cost?+

Lessons are $60 per hour — deliberately about half our standard service rate, because we believe tech confidence should be within reach for everyone in our community. Seniors (65+) and first responders each save 10% ($54/hr; one discount per session). There's a one-hour minimum, then we bill per half-hour. In-Home lessons add our standard service-call fee.

What can you teach me?+

Whatever you'd like to learn — every session is built around your goal. Popular topics include the basics of computers, tablets and phones; email, texting and video calls with family; spotting scams and staying safe online; Microsoft Word and Excel; the rest of Office and Google's apps; and setting up a new device. Small-business owners can get up to speed on Microsoft 365 and Excel too.

Is tutoring a good fit for seniors?+

Absolutely — it's one of the things we're proudest to offer. Our most-requested lessons are everyday confidence and online safety: avoiding scam calls and phishing, safe passwords, and safe online banking. We go at your pace, never make you feel rushed, and seniors 65+ save 10%.

Do I need my own device, and should I book ahead?+

You can bring your own device or learn on ours — using your own is often best, so what you learn carries straight home with you. Booking ahead is recommended so we can set aside dedicated one-on-one time; call or text 587-257-5595 to arrange a session. In-Home lessons are always by appointment.

Ready to feel confident with your tech?

Tell us what you'd like to learn and we'll match you with the right person. Walk in, call, or book a session.
